Channel Partner Onboarding template

This channel partner onboarding form organizes enablement after a partner has been accepted into your program. It collects region, product scope, commercial contacts, training needs, launch prerequisites and support ownership. Acceptance still awaiting confirmation and technical enablement needs have their own follow-up questions, so unresolved work remains visible.

Tips to get more from it

Keep acceptance, enablement and readiness separate

Acceptance establishes whether the organization belongs in the program. Enablement prepares its people to sell, implement or support the agreed products. Launch readiness checks whether the prerequisites for a specific activity are complete. A single form submission cannot establish all three, so record the current status and the people responsible for confirming the next stage.

If acceptance is awaiting confirmation, explain what is unresolved and who owns that decision. A new applicant should use the partner application first. Review region and product coverage against the accepted program record before planning collateral or training; do not infer territory rights or commercial terms from this intake response.

Turn training needs into a first-month plan

Separate sales training from technical enablement. Three sellers learning positioning may need a different session from an implementation specialist learning configuration. The technical branch captures a contact and topic when support is needed or still requires discussion. Identify collateral languages, support channels and other dependencies with an owner for each open item.

For the first 30 days, confirm contacts and scope, agree training objectives, check completion evidence, and review readiness before the first joint activity. Define the support escalation route before customer-facing work begins. Account creation, permissions and notification workflows require separate setup; the template records the plan without granting access or confirming a launch date.

Example response and next steps

Illustrative example, not a real customer submission.

A fictional accepted regional reseller is preparing its first joint product webinar.

Partner acceptance status
Accepted
Sales training needs and participant roles
Three sellers need product positioning and a practice discovery session before the webinar.
Is technical enablement needed?
Yes
Technical contact and specific enablement topics
Implementation lead Lina needs configuration training and a review of the support escalation process.
Collateral, localization and other launch prerequisites
Channel manager Omar owns localized slides and the product-scope review before invitations are sent.

How to use the response

The accepted path skips the pending-acceptance explanation. Keep the technical session and localized collateral as open prerequisites until their owners confirm completion. Review the webinar date with the readiness reviewer rather than treating the submitted target as approval to launch.

Before publishing your version

Test both acceptance states and every technical choice. Update the instructions to point applicants to your real application flow, and verify your support contacts and product scope before sharing.

Questions people ask

Is this a reseller application?

No. Use the partner application to evaluate a prospective partner. This template collects enablement and launch details after acceptance; an awaiting-confirmation response does not approve membership.

What if technical training needs are unknown?

Select Needs discussion. The technical contact and topics question remains visible so the channel manager has a starting point for follow-up.

Does submitting grant partner portal access?

No. Accounts and permissions must be configured through your separate access process. Do not collect passwords in this form.
