Campaign Launch Checklist template
A campaign launch checklist is useful when it records evidence and unresolved work, not just a row of checked boxes. This form gives creative, destination and tracking checks explicit statuses, then asks for test evidence, blockers and a launch decision owner. Submitting it never switches on a campaign or authorizes spend.

When to use this template
- Running a readiness review before a campaign goes live
- Collecting checks from the person responsible for a campaign version
- Recording why a launch should be held for fixes or further testing
Tips to get more from it
- Keep Not checked available so incomplete testing does not look like a pass.
- Name the campaign version and include the time zone with the intended launch time.
- Require a reason for Not applicable and an owner for every unresolved blocker.
Use evidence for each readiness decision
Review the actual destination and creative combination that will be used. A landing page opening successfully does not show that its form, booking step or checkout works. Record the device, test action and observed result, and name the relevant campaign version so someone else can reproduce the check.
For tracking, confirm that a known test action appears in the intended destination with the expected event or record. This template only collects the evidence description; it does not inspect advertising platforms, run tracking tests or validate a reported pass.
Keep a manual go-or-hold decision
A Failed or Not checked status should lead to a discussion with the launch owner. The form deliberately allows the review record to be submitted with unresolved work so blockers are visible. Ready for owner review is a recommendation, not an automatic approval rule.
Before launch, assign someone to monitor the campaign and someone who can pause it. Agree the practical trigger for a pause, such as a broken destination or incorrect offer. After a material fix, repeat the affected tests and create a fresh readiness record rather than leaving the launch attached to stale evidence.
Example response and next steps
Illustrative example, not a real customer submission.
An agency is preparing a workshop registration campaign. Creative is approved, but conversion recording has not been checked.
- Creative and copy review status
- Passed
- Test conversion and tracking check
- Not checked
- Recommended readiness decision
- More checks needed
How to use the response
Assign the tracking check before the owner decides to launch. Record a test registration and verify it at the intended destination. The creative pass should not mask an untested registration or measurement path.
Before publishing your version
Replace check labels to fit the campaign. Submit a record with a failed check to confirm the team can record blockers, and agree who reads the record and makes the actual launch decision.
Questions people ask
Does a failed check prevent form submission?
No. The form records unresolved work as well as successful checks. It is not an automated release gate; the launch owner must review the answers.
Can I use it for an organic campaign?
Yes. Adapt the audience and spend question and explain any Not applicable checks. Keep the destination, content and measurement checks that matter for your campaign.
Does this replace a project task board?
No. It captures a readiness snapshot. Use your task system to assign fixes and track work between reviews.
