Volunteer Signup template
A volunteer signup form for festivals and community events that captures the four things coordinators always end up chasing by email: which shifts someone can cover, where they want to help, their t-shirt size, and whether they have done this before. Shifts and roles are both multi-select, so one response can cover a whole weekend.

When to use this template
- A food festival staffing setup, gate, kids' zone, stage crew, and teardown shifts across three days
- A school fun-run recruiting parent volunteers and needing shirt sizes for the order deadline
- A community theater filling ushering and concession slots for a production run
- An animal shelter's adoption-day event pairing returning volunteers with first-timers
Tips to get more from it
- Shifts and role preferences are separate multi-select questions, so you can schedule by availability first and assign roles second — the CSV export makes that a quick spreadsheet sort.
- The roles question has "Other" enabled; volunteers regularly suggest jobs you did not list, and those write-ins show up alongside the standard options.
- The final long-answer question surfaces accessibility needs and buddy requests — read it before you build the shift roster, not after.
- T-shirt size is a dropdown from XS to 2XL; edit the options if your shirt order uses a different range.
Questions people ask
How do I turn signups into a shift schedule?
Export responses as CSV. Each volunteer's row lists every shift they checked and their preferred roles, which drops straight into a scheduling spreadsheet.
Can volunteers pick more than one shift?
Yes — the shift question is multi-select, so one submission can cover setup on Friday and teardown on Sunday.
Does this form cost anything to run?
No. It uses only free field types, and Zunoform's free plan allows unlimited forms with 500 responses per month — enough for most volunteer crews.
