Free versus paid, plainly
Everything that makes a quiz a quiz is free: per-option points, correct-answer marking, letter-grade bands, the score variable you can drop into any question or the results page, and grading that happens on the server at submission so it cannot be edited in the browser. What the generator produces
Ask for "a 10-question quiz on basic Spanish verb conjugation, multiple choice, mixed difficulty" and you get a titled quiz with choice questions, four plausible options each, the correct option marked on every question, a welcome page, and a results page configured to reveal the score and the answers. Quiz mode is turned on, so the score is computed and stored with each response.
It can also set per-option point values when you ask for weighted scoring — useful for personality or recommendation quizzes where there is no right answer, only a total that maps to a result. Marks that do not line up with a real option are discarded during validation rather than saved, so a mismatch shows up as an unmarked question in the builder instead of silent bad grading.
Two things it does not do. Grade bands come back empty — quiz mode is on and the ranges are yours to define, whether that is the default A+ through F scale or a simple pass mark. And it does not verify facts. A model writing 20 questions on a specialist subject will get some of them subtly wrong, and mark a wrong option as correct with total confidence.
Turning a draft into a real quiz
The manual part is short, and it is the part that determines whether the quiz measures anything.
Fact-check every marked answer
Go question by question against a source you trust. This is not optional and it is not slow — it is faster than writing the questions yourself, which is the actual value of the generator. Anything you cannot verify, delete rather than reword.
Fix the distractors
Generated wrong answers are often obviously wrong, which makes the quiz easy to pass by elimination. Good distractors are plausible errors a learner would really make. Rewriting three options per question is where the difficulty of a quiz actually lives.
Set points and grade bands
Decide whether every question is worth one point or hard ones count more, whether guessing costs anything — points can be negative — and where the boundaries sit. Then set the bands: A+ to F, pass and fail, or your own tiers. The grade comes from the percentage of available points.

These are judgments about what the quiz is for, and they change the result more than the question wording does.
Where the pass mark sits
70% means something different for a safety certification than for a trivia night. A model picking a threshold is picking it from the shape of similar text, not from your consequences. Set it deliberately, and set it before you see the first results.

What partial credit means
