Create or update a HubSpot contact from a form response

Respondents become contacts in your HubSpot portal as they submit, with their answers written onto contact properties. Because HubSpot deduplicates on email address, a repeat respondent updates the record you already have instead of adding a second one.

Available on Pro, $14.99 a month. The free plan covers Google Sheets, Zoho CRM, Zapier, calendar sync, webhooks, and email notifications.

Four steps, start to finish

This is a native integration, so there is a Connect button in the builder and nothing to install.

01

Connect HubSpot

Click Connect on the HubSpot card and authorize the portal contacts should be created in.

02

Make sure the form asks for an email address

Email is the key HubSpot matches on. A form without it will accumulate duplicate contacts, which is tedious to unpick later.

03

Create any custom properties in HubSpot

An answer can only be written to a property that exists. Set up the custom properties you want to fill before you enable the integration.

04

Enable and publish

Turn it on. Each completed response creates or updates a contact in that portal within seconds.

What arrives on the other side

A contact in the portal you authorized, created or updated by email address, carrying the answers your form collected as properties. The email question is doing the real work here: without one, HubSpot has no key to match on and every submission looks like a new person. Properties have to exist in HubSpot before an answer can be written to one, so create any custom properties there first.

When it fires, and what happens if it fails

Every action on this page fires on a completed response, not on a partial one. The response is stored in Zunoform first and delivered from a queue, so a failure on the far side is retried rather than dropped. One thing to plan for: responses collected before you switch the integration on are not replayed. Delivery starts from the moment it is enabled, and anything earlier stays in your dashboard for CSV export.

Questions people ask

Which plan includes HubSpot?

Pro, at $14.99 a month. Zoho CRM is the free-plan alternative if a CRM connection is the only reason you would upgrade.

Will this create duplicate contacts?

Not if your form collects an email address. HubSpot deduplicates on it, so the same person submitting twice updates one record. Without an email question, that protection does not apply.

Can I use this for a form that also takes payment?

Yes, and they are both on the same plan. The payment runs on your own Stripe or PayPal keys with no cut taken by us, and the contact is created from the same completed response.
