Podcast Guest Application template
A podcast guest application that filters on the things that actually decide bookings: a specific topic rather than a résumé, an opinion most people in their field disagree with, and an honest description of their recording setup. Guests who have appeared elsewhere are asked for an episode link; first-timers skip that question instead of stalling on it.

The questions this template ships with — rename, reorder, or delete any of them in the builder.
When to use this template
- An interview podcast whose host is drowning in generic "I'd love to come on" pitches from PR agencies
- Business and tech shows booking a season at a time, sorting applications by theme fit before scheduling anything
- Niche podcasts where audio quality determines whether an episode is publishable, making the setup question non-negotiable
- Shows replacing a booking email address with one link that can live in the show notes of every episode
Tips to get more from it
- The disagreement question is the best predictor of a good episode in the whole form. Applicants who can answer it specifically make interesting guests; applicants who can't, don't.
- The recording-setup checklist prevents the most common podcast disaster — a great conversation recorded on laptop speakers in a room with an echo.
- The past-appearance link is skipped for first-timers, so newcomers with a strong topic aren't filtered out by a question they can't answer. That's a skip rule in the Logic tab.
- The promotion question includes "I'd rather not commit to anything" as a real option. Guests who pick it are being honest, which is more useful than a promise nobody tracks.
Questions people ask
What should a podcast guest application ask?
A one-line bio, profile link, prior appearances, the specific topic they'd cover, theme fit, an opinionated take, promotion plans, recording setup, and a headshot. This template asks all nine.
How do I screen guests before booking them?
Listen to two minutes of a past appearance and read their topic and disagreement answers. Between them, they tell you almost everything the recording will be like.
Can applicants upload a headshot?
Yes, the file upload field is included and works on the free plan, so episode artwork arrives with the application rather than in a chase email the week of publishing.
