What makes these forms work
Ask what you price on, not what is polite to ask
Roofers need pitch, storeys and access. Caterers need headcount, service style and whether the venue has a kitchen. Photographers need coverage hours and deliverables. The generic version of this form — name, email, tell us about your project — produces a quote you cannot give.
Branch on project type early
A new build and a repair are different quotes. Ask which one first and use conditional logic to hide everything irrelevant to the answer. It shortens the form for every respondent while collecting more from each of them, and it is on the free plan.
Let them show you rather than describe it
One photo of the actual roof, room or site is worth three paragraphs of description. File uploads are on the free plan and arrive as URLs in the response and in any connected integration.
Questions people ask
Should a quote form take a deposit?
Usually not in the same submission. Quoting and charging are separate steps — you cannot price the job until you have the answers. If you do want a deposit once the quote is agreed, payment fields are on the $14.99 Pro plan and run on your own Stripe or PayPal keys with no platform cut.
How do I stop getting quote requests I cannot price?
Put the disqualifying question first — service area, budget band, timeline, whichever actually rules people out. It saves their time and stops you reading enquiries you were never going to win. Conditional logic can end the form early with a helpful message rather than collecting the rest.
Can the form calculate the price automatically?
Partly.
